With a strong background in public education, Maya has specific experience in building program and service awareness among diverse socioeconomic and minority audiences and has developed and implemented outreach campaigns for the healthcare, education, and construction industries.

Maya was a member of the San Diego Community College District Propositions S&N $1.5 billion Construction Bond Program promoting increased use, capacity building and sustainability of small and historically underutilized businesses. She was also instrumental on the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority strategic communication team for a multi-million dollar, countywide educational public outreach campaign, as well as with the National Foundation for Autism Research, where she increased public awareness efforts of Autism understanding among the Latino community. Additionally Maya played a role on the marketing and advertising creative team that directed and implemented nation-wide minority-targeted public education campaigns for the YMCA of the USA and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.
